Executive Chef David Meyer loves the amount of freedom and creativity he can exercise in the Winifred's kitchen.
David and his staff work hard to create nightly features that go "above and beyond" what our guests expect.
David stands firmly behind the idea that food should be fun. "Dining should be
an experience," he says, "Something as enjoyable as the rest of life's pleasures." Having been with the Godwin family restaurants
for many years, David has stayed away from the corporate restaurants, preferring to work within independently owned and operated
establishments. He feels that "the people are a little more real.....They're concerned with quality and personal pride,
not just the bottom line."
David received his accreditation from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 1996. Soon
after, he apprenticed under such Chefs as Fred King & Tim Seib. David attributes much of his education
and experience in independent restaurants.
David has received many awards and acknowledgments over the years. In 2000, he was
named the Iowa Chef of the Year by the Iowa Hospitality Association, a division of the National Restaurant Association.
Winifred's is proud to have David on-board with us and encourage you to come and
experience for yourself a "truly pleasurable dining experience."
